How Ovun Saved 50,000 NOK Before Production Even Started

The official opening of Ovun AS’s new production facility at Rudshøgda marks a major milestone for the company, its partners, and the local community. The modern factory, owned by TEMA Eiendom and delivered by Veidekke Norge as total contractor, represents both a physical expansion and a step into the future of efficient, technology-driven manufacturing.

At Moicon, we are proud to have been part of this journey. From the early planning phase to testing and optimization, our digital twin technology was used to support Ovun and Veidekke in streamlining processes, reducing risks, and uncovering new opportunities for efficiency.

By leveraging a digital twin, Ovun and Veidekke were able to visualize, test, and refine solutions in a virtual environment before making changes on site. One powerful example came from Factory Manager Pål Tåsåsen, who shared how digital simulation directly influenced their operations:

• The planned installation of a traverse crane was tested and optimized in Moicon’s platform.

• The simulation revealed a more efficient installation process, eliminating the need for two full days of crane truck work.

• This adjustment not only saved 50,000 NOK in crane rental costs but also enabled production to start two days earlier.

This demonstrates how digital twins provide more than visual insight — they deliver measurable business impact, from cost reductions to faster time-to-production.
